WWE 205 Live results (April 2, 2019): Murphy & Nese’s rivalry turns bitter

WWE.com

WWE 205 Live returns to WWE Network tonight (April 2, 2019), back live on Tuesday nights, with a show from Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.

Advertised for tonight: The final push toward Tony Nese vs. Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania 35 continues, as even more hostility between the former training partners is teased after last week’s brawl at the Performance Center. And Akira Tozawa tries to get his win back from Mike Kanellis, this time with The Brian Kendrick in his corner to counteract Maria’s inevitable interference.

Come right back here at 10 p.m. ET. We’ll update all the results from 205 Live live as it airs on WWE Network below the line.

Enjoy the show!

  • The show opens with Drake Maverick doing his usual hype reel / breakdown of what’s on tonight’s show.
  • Lucha House Party cut a promo during their entrance welcoming us to the show and informing us that it is, in fact, lucha time.
  • Oney Lorcan over Kalisto by pinfall with the half nelson suplex.
  • Cedric Alexander rolls up on Drake Maverick in his office to ask why he didn’t get the Oney match. Drake says he’s had a lot of hard-hitting matches lately and he’s lost the last two, which isn’t like him, so he thinks he needs some time off to rest. Alexander says he doesn’t need rest, he needs to fight Oney, and Maverick promises him the match but says he needs him at 100%. Cedric accepts this explanation and shakes on it, saying he’s going to hold him to it.
  • Tony Nese is interviewed backstage and says there’s no pressure on him because nobody expects him to win, but Buddy Murphy knows deep down that if anybody can beat him, it’s Nese. Last week he was hiding because he knows— BUDDY BLINDSIDES TONY AND BEATS HIM DOWN! They brawl out of the back and to the stage as referees pull them apart! Security and road agent 5-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce join the fray but they can’t stop Nese from ramming Murphy into the LED boards and kneeing his face off!
  • Akira Tozawa over Mike Kanellis by pinfall with a sunset flip despite Maria Kanellis’ best efforts.
  • We get a video package recapping the events leading up to Buddy Murphy vs. Tony Nese being the title match for WrestleMania.
  • That’s the show, folks.
