What does John Cena do after reviving his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick for WrestleMania 35, and before starting his next movie project (which could be Suicide Squad 2)?
He fine-tunes his hosting skills filling in for Ellen Degeneres on the April 19 episode of her eponymous talk show. And after a bit of cringey monologue (at least for wrestling fans who’ve heard versions of all these jokes before and sat through a lot of Cena promos with photoshop gags - but in all fairness, never one with Degeneres’ head photoshopped onto Alexa Bliss’ body)...
... he’s quite charming. First, he eats cupcakes, arm wrestles and gets an anatomy lesson from Ellen regular, “kid genius” Brielle:
Then he gets to make jokes about his own anatomy with his old buddy and Blockers co-star Leslie Mann. Here we learn that John’s buttocks are so muscular, his “butt meat” prevents you from seeing his “south mouth” even when he’s bent over. Cause who didn’t need to know that?
New wrestling fan Jenna Dewan shows up to talk about her newfound love of pro wrestling, courtesy of her boyfriend and The Man, Becky Lynch. She and Cena also bond over their love of self-help while discussing the dancer/actress’ new book:
As a bonus, there’s also a digital exclusive of the 16 time WWE World champ and Ellen’s wingman Twitch playing “Marijuana Strain or Show Dog Name?” in honor of 4/20!
And now you know what does John Cena after reviving his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick for WrestleMania 35, and before starting his next movie project (which could be Suicide Squad 2).
