NXT results, live blog (April 10, 2019): Back to Barclays

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever happens on WWE’s third brand - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts, but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- We start with a highlight package of everything which happened at TakeOver: New York, and then it’s our new theme song from Slipknot and it’s swanky new intro video.

- Nigel McGuinness, Mauro Ranallo & Percy Watson welcome us to the show as Candice Wrestling makes her entrance.

- Candice LeRae def. Aliyah via pinfall following a springboard moonsault

Aliyah actually gets the first takedown and slaps LeRae across the face. She maintains th lead until she spends a little too long posing and catches a drop kick. Candice kicks her off the apron, but Vanessa Borne distracts and lets her partner yank LeRae onto the ropes. She puts Candice down face first, knee drop, then puts the boots to her in the corner. Near fall after yanking LeRae down by her hair, and another off a boot. But when Aliyah decides to slap her again, and Mrs. Wrestling isn’t having it. She blocks Aliyah into the corner, and follows with a running elbow. Snapmare, step-up senton and a neckbreaker. She overshoots the finish, but it’s still the finish.

- Percy introduces a video package on Velveteen Dream’s successful North American title defense over Matt Riddle from last Friday; and get a tease of his next defense with the video of him taunting Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania

- Mauro handles the highlights of War Raiders TakeOver-opening Tag title win over Aleister Black & Ricochet, and we see General Manager William Regal & Triple H introducing Kushida before the show

- Jaxson Ryker def. Danny Burch via pinfall following Widowmaker

Oney Lorcan is with Burch, and both Jaxson’s Forgotten Sons mates accompany him to the ring. Danny comes out with a missle drop kick at the bell, and gets a two count. Flurry of chops follows, but Ryker eventually muscles him into a corner and turns him inside out with a shoulder off a whip. That gets two, and a follow-up belly-to-back suplex and falling headbutt gets another nearfall. The Sons’ enforcer starts inflicting punishment, but Burch drops down while in a sleeper and jacks Jaxson’s jaw. Burch is hot, and looks like he might be able to pick up a win off another dropkick from the middle rope, but Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler run interference before he can cover. Oney takes them out with a crossbody off the apron, but it gives Ryker time to recover. His first attempt at something is cut off by a roll-up, but he eventually connects and picks up the win.

The Brit-Am Brawlers get the worst of a post-match brawl, too.

- Nigel tells us about the Fatal 4Way where Shayna Baszler retained her Women’s title over Io Shirai, Kairi Sane & Bianca Belair when she submitted The EST. We see the fallout interview where Baszler tells Sarah Schrieber she’s never losing the belt.

- We then get a Billie Eilish scored recap of WALTER ending Pete Dunne’s historic UK championship reign. Faceless interviewer vows there will be a rematch.

- Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole’s NXT title match from Barclays gets the full “unseen footage” treatment. We see the clip released after the show where Adam Cole begins to blame Roderick Strong for his loss, then Undisputed ERA chases off the cameras when they notice they’re being filmed.

- Street Profits def. Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner via pinfall following the electric chair blockbuster on Barthel

Montez Ford starts off with Aichner, but the Italian forearms Angelo Dawkins off the apron and tries to isolate Tez in his corner. Barthel comes in for some double-team work, but Ford flips out and dropkicks them both. Marcel catches Montez with a kick when he tries another float over, and the heels go to work on his in the corner. Two count off a suplex for Barthel, A spinebuster from Aichner and a drop knee from his partner puts us into the portion of the match where the European Union works the heat, including a cool bit where they stand on Tez hand to keep him from getting to Dawkins.

When Angelo finally gets in, he blasts Barthel into the Italian, then runs wild. Belly-to-belly on Aichner, spinning slam, then he tags Ford to go for their finisher, but Marcel cuts it off and Dawkins gets dumped to the floor. Fabian hits Ford with a brainbuster while his partner flies through the ropes to take out the Curse of Greatness. Double jump moonsault from Aichner, but Montez kicks out at two. Dawkins back in for a big spear on Aichner, then a blind tag puts them in position to end it on the German.
