What’s next for NXT? It’s a question even more on the minds of fans than usual considering the horrible news about Tommaso Ciampa. The black-and-yellow brand films at their home base of Full Sail Live on Weds., Mar. 13 for shows which should address the NXT Title picture.
We’ll start seeing the action taped tonight next week during NXT’s regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network. These shows will also finish the build for April 5’s TakeOver: New York - including who wins the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and a shot at War Raiders’ tag belts.
What do Triple H and team have in store for us? Join us as we start updating results live when as they roll in from Winter Park, Florida after the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:
- Chelsea Green over Jessie Elaban in your presumptive opening dark match of the evening.
- Triple H makes his entrance, NXT Championship in hand. He says he was going to come down to announce Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa for that title, but obviously that can’t happen now. So instead, we’ll have a five-way match tonight, as Adam Cole, Aleister Black, Matt Riddle, Ricochet, and the Velveteen Dream do battle for the right to be Gargano’s opponent in a 2⁄3 Falls Match for the title at TakeOver: New York!
- Adam Cole over Aleister Black, Matt Riddle, Ricochet, and Velveteen Dream (NXT Championship Qualifying Match)
- Post-match, the Forgotten Sons show up to attack Black and Ricochet!
- Punishment Martinez over Riddick Moss.
- Humberto Carrillo over Albert Hardie, Jr. You may, of course, know Mr. Hardie better by his initials... ACH!
- War Raiders (Hanson & Ray Rowe) make short work of some enhancement talent. Post-match, Rowe demands another set of opponents...
- War Raiders (Hanson & Ray Rowe) over Eh Nois (Adrian Jaoude & Cezar Bononi)
- Jaxson Ryker over Oney Lorcan
- Bianca Belair vs. Kairi Sane goes to a no-contest when Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, and Shayna Baszler run in and attack. Io Shirai makes the save and we get a big ol’ brawl! Shirai stands tall with the title after moonsaulting into the crush.
- Raul Mendoza over Brennan Williams.
- Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano have a face-to-face where they go back and forth on their respective fan support, paths to WWE, and success in NXT.
- Aliyah & Vanessa Borne vs. Kacy Catanzaro & Lacey Lane ends when Shayna and her goons come down. Aliyah and Borne see discretion as the better part of valor and beat a retreat, leaving Catanzaro and Lane to eat the beating.
- Matt Riddle over. Kona Reeves. During the match, Velveteen Dream is carried to the stage on a palanquin by two women, and after the match, he informs Riddle that they’ll be wrestling at TakeOver: New York.
- Aleister Black & Ricochet over Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake) (Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals)
- It’s official— Black & Ricochet will challenge War Raiders for the NXT Tag Team Championship at TakeOver: New York!
- War Raiders come out for a face-off and Ricochet mentions on mic that this may be the last time in Full Sail for him and Aleister, which feels like the kind of thing that won’t make air, especially as they continue to cut a full-on farewell promo.
There you have it, folks
This takes us to TakeOver: New York, folks. Like what you read, Cagesiders?
