WWE 205 Live returns to WWE Network tonight (Mar. 12, 2019), back live on Tuesday nights, with a show from the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Advertised for tonight: With Cruiserweight champ Buddy Murphy looking as unstoppable as his nickname, General Manager Drake Maverick announced a tournament to determine his challenger for WrestleMania 35. We’re on to semi-final action already, with Drew Gulak facing off against Tony Nese on one side of the bracket, and upstart Oney Lorcan against the only remaining former champion of the division, Cedric Alexander, on the other.
Come right back here at 10 p.m. ET. We’ll update all the results from 205 Live live as it airs on WWE Network below the line.
Enjoy the show!
- Drew Gulak opens the show with a promo, saying Tony Nese thinks things are going to be different this year, but one thing remains the same-- he’s wrestling Drew, and if you haven’t kept track, he owns Tony.
- Nese has a counter promo and says it’s not gonna take speed or strength, he’s going to have to not make any mistakes, because one mistake and Drew will dissect him.
- Oney Lorcan also gets a promo where he says he has no ill will to Humberto Carrillo but Drake Maverick knew what he was getting when he brought him in. Now he’s got Cedric Alexander, and he’s going to snuff out the soul of 205 Live.
- Cedric Alexander finishes up our set, saying Oney’s a bad, bad man but he’s coming back to take what’s his.
- Buddy Murphy gets a handcam promo where he congratulates the semifinalists and puts them all over before saying it ultimately doesn’t matter because he’s winning at WrestleMania.
- Cedric Alexander over Oney Lorcan by pinfall with the Lumbar Check. (WWE Cruiserweight Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament Semifinal Match)
- Mike and Maria Kanellis are backstage complaining to Drake Maverick about his lack of respect last week throwing Colby Corino out against him. He says he’s not just happy to be here and he deserves better, to which Drake says next week he’ll face one of the top cruiserweights in the world, as befits his stature, but if he keeps losing, he and his wife are both gone.
- Ariya Daivari gets a promo where he says some big words and says you’re gonna see what a year of pent-up frustration looks like soon.
- Tony Nese over Drew Gulak by pinfall, reversing the Gu-Lock into a pin. (WWE Cruiserweight Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament Semifinal Match)
- That’s the show, folks.
