You just knew The Shield reuniting for one more match before Dean Ambrose left WWE was going to be the main event. Sure enough, Ambrose joined Roman Reigns — in his first match back after his latest battle with leukemia — and Seth Rollins to take on Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley in the headlining spot of tonight’s (Sun., Mar. 10, 2019) Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
One more time:
This was a vintage Shield match — it started as your standard six-man tag before devolving into a chaotic mess of fun, with bodies flying all around, high spots, near falls, and everything else you could want from these guys. Really, it was exactly what you would hope for out of a match involving The Shield if you felt like this was the last one.
Lashley got it first, then McIntyre was triple powerbombed through an announcer’s table, and finally Corbin, one of the most hated men in WWE, was in the ring all alone. He, too, was triple powerbombed — “one last motherfucking time,” as Rollins said — and Reigns pinned him to win the match.
Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose then embraced.
It’s been fun.
See you down the road.
