The Kickoff show for tonight’s (Sun., Mar. 10, 2019) WWE Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, was supposed to feature Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade in a singles match. Instead, they changed some things around and put them in a Fatal 4-Way later in the night. That 4-Way was a U.S. title match after Carmella campaigned for R-Truth to earn a rematch with a petition even Samoa Joe signed.
So they all came together, on the main card, for yet another banger of a match.
There were various points when each and every guy in the match looked capable of winning, with notable teases for both Andrade and Mysterio. In the end, Joe managed to counter Mysterio and put him to sleep.
It should be noted Rey elected to go out instead of tapping.
Either way, Joe is still your U.S. champion and John Cena may indeed have his opponent for WrestleMania 35.
