After requesting a meeting during the Kickoff show, then making him wait for nearly an hour, McMahon acquiesced to The New Day’s request to put Kingston in the WWE championship match at tonight’s (Sun., Mar. 10, 2019) Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. He made the Daniel Bryan vs. Kevin Owens match a triple threat.
Or at least that’s what we thought.
When Kingston made his way out, we were then informed that, actually, the WWE title match would be taking place later on in the evening and Kingston was actually going to wrestle The Bar in a handicap match. Big E and Xavier Woods were barred from ringside.
Kingston fought valiantly but he never really had a chance.
Even when E and Woods tried to interfere, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev ran out and prevented that. Kingston was pinned by both Sheamus and Cesaro, and everyone hated it.
