With five days to go until she’s set to compete in the Elimination Chamber match which will crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team champions on this Sunday’s pay-per-view (PPV), WWE is making sure we know Sasha Banks is banged up.
On this Monday’s Raw, Banks was driven into the barricade by Ruby Riott during a three team tag bout, and never worked in the actual match. It was the second week in a row she’s only been involved in action outside the ring, and both times on the receiving end of beatdown-type offense. This while rumors swirled that she wasn’t actually cleared to wrestle, but was being used because WWE was confident she would be ready for the Feb. 17 event in Houston.
Since the match two night ago, the company has been making sure fans are aware of the injury. Her partner Bayley mentioned it in an interview, but said she was confident the Boss’ drive & heart would ensure she was ready for the Chamber. The commentary teams on Raw and SmackDown both played up questions about Banks’ status, and the team Sasha & Bayley are supposed to start off with at Elimination Chamber, Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose of Fire & Desire, were asked about it in their fallout interview after Tuesday’s show.
And now, they’re got the headline “Sasha Banks re-aggravates shoulder injury” on all of their online outlets, but without much else in the way of information. The entire post at WWE.com reads:
“Sasha Banks re-aggravated a shoulder injury during a Triple Threat Tag Team Match on Raw, WWE.com has learned.
The injury forced Banks out of the match, leaving her partner Bayley to compete by herself.

The question is... does WWE want us aware of the injury in case they have to pull her from the PPV? Or is she cleared and they want to give the Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection the biggest possible mountain to climb? Somewhere in between?
Stick with CagesideSeats.com for more updates on Sasha Banks’ status as they become available, I guess.
UPDATE: There’s good news!
