WWE releases Luke Harper, Sin Cara, The Ascension

WWE.com

It was some time ago that Luke Harper asked for his release. Not only was he denied, but he came back to television briefly.

Later, Sin Cara publicly asked for his release. He hasn’t appeared much on television at all.

The Ascension, meanwhile, did not ask for their release, at least not publicly.

All of them, of course, have been released as of today, as announced by WWE on its website.

While WWE has signed as much talent as possible over the past few years, in part to ensure Raw, SmackDown, and NXT have plenty of wrestlers to cycle through and in part to keep them away from competition, the roster simply became too bloated for the company to manage. These four represent talented performers who haven’t been used in any meaningful way for far too long.

Now, they’ll be able to go elsewhere in the hopes of getting a chance.
