Most of the updates in WWE’s latest NXT Injury Report actually stem from one segment of the Dec. 4 episode of the show.
Matt Camp checks in to assure us next week’s scheduled Mia Yim vs. Dakota Kai battle will occur despite both wrestlers being banged up from this past Wednesday, and the weeks leading up to it. We’re also told that Shayna Baszler and I wanna say Mary & Jessica? They messed up Rhea Ripley’s throat, and The Nightmare might have to rasp any message she wants to send to the NXT Women’s champ ahead of their title bout on Dec. 18.
The one male-centric update has to do with Killian Dain. The Big Irishman got a replacement opponent two nights ago because the guy he was supposed to face - Damian Priest - was still sidelined from a rib injury Dain gave him at TakeOver: WarGames. Priest’s replacement, Pete Dunne? Now dealing with a rib injury.
See if you can pick out any other patterns while watching this week’s video, and perusing the brief list of what’s covered in it:
- Mia Yim (cleared for next week’s match with Dakota Kai)
- Dakota Kai (refused medical attention; not expected to miss next week’s match with Mia Yim) - believed to have suffered facial injuries
- Rhea Ripley (resting, to seek further evaluation if necessary) - strained vocal box
- Pete Dunne (day-to-day) - reaggravated knee injury; suffering from rib pain
