The rumor (and Fandango’s listing on the Dec. 13 edition of the work/shoot hybrid NXT Injury Report) was unfortunately true:
Tommy John surgery, named for the Major League Baseball pitcher the surgery was performed on in the 1970s, involves replacing ulnar collateral ligament in the patient’s elbow with a tendon from elsewhere in the body. Recovery time ranges from 6 - 18 months.
It’s the latest tough break for 38 year old Fandango (real name Curtis Hussey), who only recently returned from missing more than a year with a left labrum tear. He and his tag partner Tyler Breeze moved to NXT this summer and while they weren’t featured every week, they were getting a decent mid-card push.
We’ll see where this leaves Breeze. More importantly, join us in wishing Dango a speedy & complete recovery.
Also, that is a nice #nipple.
