More good news for NXT

A ratings win and a clean injury report? Christmas came early for Triple H.

Kind of surprised NXT didn’t use their weekly Injury Report video to remind us of how Rhea Ripley fought through kayfabe elbow pain to defeat Shayna Baszler. They pulled out all the other stops to make The Nightmare’s Women’s title win feel as epic as possible. Not even listing her as day-to-day on this particular ‘Reality’ Era blend of work and shoot feels like a missed opportunity.

Maybe they feel like Ripley’s been sufficiently hyped. Instead, they use Matt Camp’s report to pepper a little intrigue into the Johnny Gargano/Finn Bálor program by reminding us they never updated us on Gargano’s status after Finn put him on the list back in October. And to hype the Christmas night card, which will have a Roderick Strong open challenge and a Keith Lee/Lio Rush team-up against Damian Priest & Tony Nese.

Here’s the (mostly) empty report:

  • Johnny Gargano (2020 status unknown) - no further update from his Oct. neck trauma
