Could NXT make it two weeks in a row?
Last week in the Wednesday Night War, NXT on USA won the viewership total while AEW Dynamite won the 18-49 demographic rating points. No idea who booked that finish.
The one on Weds., Nov. 27, 2019 was even crazier. We had to wait several days to see the Thanksgiving Eve results, and they were worth the wait - if you were pulling for the War to get even more brutal, that is.
Per Showbuzz Daily, NXT brought in 810,000 viewers compared to AEW’s 663,000.
Dynamite did keep their ratings advantage. But the margins were slimmer than ever, including in the all important 18-49 demographic. Last week, AEW netted a .26 rating and finished 15th among cable originals. NXT’s .24 was four spots behind them.
Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo through nine weeks:
- Oct. 2: 1.4 million / .68
- Oct. 9: 1.02 million / .46 on TNT, plus 122K from Tru TV simulcast for total viewership of approximately 1.14 million
- Oct. 16: 1.01 million / .44
- Oct 24: 963,000 / .45
- Oct 30: 759,000 / .34
- Nov. 6: 822,000 / .35
- Nov. 13: 957,000 / .43
- Nov. 20: 893,000 / .39
- Nov. 28: 663,000 / .26
Here’s a breakdown of NXT’s audience and ratings share of the same demographic through eleven weeks:
- Sept. 18 (one hour on USA): 1.18 million / .56
- Sept. 25 (one hour on USA): 1.01 million / .40
- Oct. 2: 891,000 / .32
