Would still watch.
Roughly 10 to 15 years after its expiration date, some pro wrestling fans still want to see Sting versus Undertaker at WrestleMania. With all the wacky stuff WWE does in Saudi Arabia, why couldn’t WCW’s Franchise face-off with WWE’s Deadman in 2020? 2021? 2022?
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Sting was asked about the match he will always be asked about.
“If there was a ’Taker situation at WrestleMania, I would listen to that phone call. I could get in condition and I could pull it off.”
Stinger would add:
“I think my career is done. I still think about the ‘Taker situation every year, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
You can hear the hopes and dreams of so many 1990s wrestling fans just being crushed under the weight of Sting’s response.
Remember when WWE openly teased their fans with a potential Sting versus Undertaker match?
Why?
Why make an excellent trailer if you aren’t even going to do the match?
All fans want is one, just one, poorly paced, plodding, over booked mess of a match between Sting and Undertaker. Not in Saudi Arabia either.
Double retirement match, Sting versus Undertaker at a WrestleMania to be named later. Pro wrestling fans promise we will not ask for anything else, until we ask for something else.
