As we said last week, FS1 is probably happy with WWE Backstage delivering an audience number in the six figures and finishing around 100th place in 18 - 49 year old demographic rating among cable originals. For the fourth straight week, the Renee Young-hosted show did that on Tues., Dec. 10.
So everyone should be pleased, right?
Maybe? Showbuzz Daily reports Backstage was down to 127,000 viewers and a .06 rating. The loss of 11K viewers and .02 ratings points isn’t too bad. But there’s probably some disappointment that there were drops rather than gains, given WWE and Fox Sports had a week to promote the first regular appearance of special contributor CM Punk.
Punk’s first promoted appearance on Nov. 19 remains the best the show has done in its regular time slot. Is that the ceiling for WWE Backstage?
