It’s a New Day, yes it is!
(For the seventh time, in this case.)
Indeed, Big E and Kofi Kingston defeated Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of The Revival to become the new SmackDown tag team champions on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown from Manchester, England. This match was supposed to take place last week but travel issues getting out of Saudi Arabia prevented it.
The match saw Wilder fake a knee injury early to give The Revival an edge but E and Kingston weathered the storm to eventually come back and score the pinfall off Trouble in Paradise after E countered the Shatter Machine.
This not only makes New Day champs but books them for the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) on Nov. 24 in Rosemont, Illinois, where they’ll wrestle the Raw Tag Team Champions, Viking Raiders, and the NXT Tag Team Champions, Undisputed Era.
