In recent weeks, Randy Orton has been all over social media making it quite obvious he was teasing a defection to All Elite Wrestling. He could ave been trolling, of course, but it seems just as likely he was simply angling for a better deal from WWE.
Pitting one side against the other is the right business move, after all.
Whatever his motives may have been, PW Insider brings word that he has indeed signed a new contract with WWE. It’s being reported as a multi-year deal, though it isn’t made clear just how many years.
Either way, Orton, who turned 39 earlier this year, will be with the company into his early 40s, at the least. There’s no reason to think he won’t finish is pro wrestling career with WWE, however long it may last.
For now, he’s on the Monday Night Raw brand and still getting big pops dishing out surprise RKOs. A good gig if you can get it.
Update: Looks like it’s a 5-year deal.
