Seth Rollins describes WWE backstage meeting, denies speaking at all

WWE.com

On Fightful’s subscription-only Select site, Sean Ross Sapp posted a comment he got from Seth Rollins regarding the backstage meeting which occurred yesterday afternoon between Vince McMahon and members of the WWE roster. Rollins briefly summarized McMahon and Triple H’s message to the team, and directly refuted the claim from Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer that he delivered a “rah rah speech”. Rollins denies he spoke at all.

Here’s Seth’s statement to Fightful:

“Vince and Triple H held an all talent meeting to explain the travel situation returning from Crown Jewel. They commended the talent for their conduct in a tough spot and fielded questions and allowed anyone to voice their feelings on the matter. Some talent spoke up and overall it was a productive forum. I said zero words. I made no speech. Pretty simple.”

I came down pretty hard on Rollins in my write-up of Meltzer’s latest radio show, and in light of this, I apologize. I still think his sensitivity to these things has to make his already difficult job even more difficult. But if the information The Observer is getting is flat out wrong, I certainly understand being upset, and his coming forward to refute it.

With two completely conflicting accounts of this meeting out there, somebody somewhere is lying. Some will believe Seth and WWE on this, others won’t.

We’ll leave that up to you.

UPDATE - Seth has also issued another direct Twitter response to Meltzer:

UPDATE 2 - Meltzer has apologized to Rollins:
