The Rock reveals his pro wrestling Mount Rushmore

The Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling is one of the questions that can be pondered upon for hours. Off the top of my head, potential prime candidates are Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, Bruno Sammartino, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Undertaker, Sting, The Rock, HHH, John Cena, Brock Lesnar. I’m sure I missed at least ten others. The list goes on.

Who better than the most electrifying man in sports entertainment to help whittle down the field? Let’s see who The Rock picked.

  • Hulk Hogan
  • Ric Flair
  • Gorgeous George/Bruno Sammartino
  • Steve Austin

No issues with that list from me. Andre the Giant is a name I’d strongly consider. The Rock explains his thoughts on the Eighth Wonder Of The World.

Since Rock’s picks are sound, allow me to indulge in posting my Mount Rushmore so you have someone to throw eggs at in the comments when you share yours. I’m going to narrow it down to wrestlers I’ve actually lived through to experience their careers.

  • Hulk Hogan
  • Bret Hart
  • Steve Austin
  • Brock Lesnar

No need to explain Hogan. Hart lived up to being the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Yes, I am a biased fan of the Excellence of Execution. Austin ushered in a new era in attitude. Lesnar is a once in a lifetime freak of nature. I still get goosebumps of anticipation before every single Lesnar match.

If you are wondering about Ric Flair being off the list, he was second fiddle to Hogan in WCW by the time they got my attention on television. I missed his prime Horsemen days.

Do you agree with The Rock’s picks for the pro wrestling Mount Rushmore? Who are your choices?
