Difficult to tell how to interpret the ratings for WWE Backstage on Tues., Nov. 27. The headline is pretty much the best fact-based statement I could come up with. But we in the internet wrestling community love to pretend we know what these numbers mean, so here we go...
The Renee Young-hosted FS1 studio show stayed in the top 150 last night, a show which didn’t have special correspondent CM Punk on it as it did on Nov. 20 - the first time it cracked the top 150 in its regular 11 p.m. Eastern time slot. Viewers were down about 59K to 121,000. The .5 rating among 18 - 49 year olds was half what it was a week ago.
Did folks not know Punk wouldn’t be on? Were they tuning in for Triple H? Is the show just finding its level now that it’s been airing in the same spot for four weeks?
We’ll see what happens next Tuesday. As of this writing, it hasn’t been announced whether Punk will appear on Dec. 3.
