WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR NOV. 15

Underneath the moonlight of old Hungarian skies, buried in the blood-drenched earth, these barren lands of ice. She was an evil woman with an evil old soul, piercing eyes emotionless, a heart so black and cold, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a recap of last week’s stuff with Baron Corbin talking about Roman Reigns and his testicles.

Thence into the intro video.

King Baron Corbin makes his entrance, carried out on a litter by six dudes. He joins Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, who are already in the ring. Corbin demands respect from the crowd before saying that his two compatriots have pledged their loyalty to his kingdom. He talks about how he’s proved that it’s not the Big Dog’s yard anymore, but his kingdom, and he announces that he’s captain of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

There are two weak links on the team and tonight he intends to right that wrong. Dolph says Roman has been a step behind and tried to undermine his leadership every step of the way, and it should be him and Roode on the team instead of Mustafa Ali and Chad Gable. Robert says Ali and Gable were given participation trophies and that’s not gonna fly under King Corbin’s reign, and Ziggler says they’re gonna beat them up and take their spots and that’s gonna be absolutely... glorious.

And Baron wants Roman Reigns to come down to the ring to watch.

...or it could be a man in a dog mascot costume coming out to a remix of Roman’s theme that has high-pitched yappy barking overdubbed on it. Baron makes the dog man kneel before him and we go to break before the match.

Back from commercial we get some hype for CM Punk being on WWE Backstage, which is a sentence I got to type.

Chad Gable & Mustafa Ali vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode

Roode and Gable to start, Chad with a shoulder block, drop down, off the ropes, corkscrew arm drag! Another arm drag sets up an armbar, arm wringer, Robert cuts him off with a right hand and tags Ziggler in. Dolph drops a Heartstopper elbow for a nearfall, swinging neckbreaker countered and Gable hits another arm drag! Tag to Ali, off the top with a diving double stomp to the arm!

Arm wringer, Ziggler comes back and scrapes Mustafa’s face across the top rope! Uppercut, right hand, Ali right back in the fight, whip reversed, slide to a stop, to the apron for a roundhouse kick! Rolling thunder X-Factor connects... NOPE! Roode tags in, boots to Mustafa in the corner, smashing his face into the turnbuckles and choking him out. Big chop in the corner, right hand, whip across, up and over to the apron.

Corbin runs interference and Roode bumps Ali off the apron and into the announce table! Corbin and the “Big Dog” clapping and laughing AND ROMAN REIGNS IS HERE! He stalks Baron at ringside and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Reigns and Corbin are jawing at each other on the floor while the heels in the match work Ali over. He back body drops Ziggler to the floor and sidesteps Roode into the post, and the path is clear! Crawling, desperate, but Dolph comes in and hits the Fameasser! Blast Gable off the apron, cover Mustafa... NOPE! Lying in wait, tuning up the band... ALI HITS HIS SUPERKICK FIRST!

Tags made, Gable clearing house, exploder suplex takes Ziggler out when he tries to come in! Rolling koppu kick, rolling neckbreaker, fired up and the top is off! Chad perches up top... MOONSAULT CAN’T PUT THE FORMER TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION AWAY! Looking for Chaos Theory, Roode tags out, Zig Zag / spinebuster combo... ALI BREAKS IT UP! Robert tries dumping Mustafa, Ziggler succeeds, Gable ducks the kick and picks the ankle!

Ankle lock applied, Dolph struggling but Chad gets it locked all the way on until Roode breaks it up! Robert wants Corbin’s scepter but Roman cuts him off with a Drive-By! Chaos on the floor, Ali dives on Roode and Roman spears Baron out of his boots! Ziggler with a schoolboy for two, Gable tags out... CHAOS THEORY! Mustafa up top...

Chad Gable & Mustafa Ali win by pinfall with a 450 splash from Ali on Dolph Ziggler, retaining their spots on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

Commentary hypes up the rest of the show and throws to a recap of Sami Zayn offering Daniel Bryan a spot in his new stable and Bryan then getting choked out by Bray Wyatt.

We get an episode of Firefly Fun House.

Bray starts off by saying something’s not quite right, and he magics himself into a magician outfit and then the Universal Championship into having a blue strap instead of a red one. He says the Fiend will be watching Bryan tonight and he’ll see us later, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of the ending of the match we just saw, because even more of this show needed to be about Baron Corbin, I guess.

The heels are backstage bickering and Corbin promises Ziggler and Roode that he’ll fix this.

A recap of Tyson Fury’s stuff from last week follows.

Braun Strowman makes his entrance.

The B-Team and Drew Gulak await him.

Gulak tells him to relax and the B-Team are here to learn. This week his Powerpoint is very simple, and it’s about what would happen if he were to replace Braun on Team SmackDown. Of course, he saves the day, and he continues, saying Strowman lasted longer against Tyson Fury than he expected, but he still has lessons left to learn. Braun wrenches Gulak’s finger and gets mobbed by the three men!

Of course, Strowman fights them off, Stinger splash for Curtis Axel, big boot for Bo Dallas! He hits the running powerslam on Axel for good measure!

Backstage, New Day are interviewed.

They’re confident that they’ll beat the Revival tonight without Xavier Woods, because he’s always in their hearts.

They make their entrance, they’ll be in action after the break.

Back from commercial, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura accost Daniel Bryan.

Sami demands a final answer, and Bryan says if he’s sincere and he has his back, why did he run away when the Fiend was choking him out? Zayn says he ran for a couple reasons, including that he thought Dan was right with him. Bryan says he doesn’t need his help and he’s not joining his group, but he agrees that Sami needs someone else, and he has the perfect person-- Braun Strowman.

Zayn asks if Dan is joking and says that Braun is just big and strong and not an artist.

Of course, Strowman is right behind him. Sami begs off and pulls Nakamura away from the monster.

New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. the Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship)

Kingston and Wilder to start, circling, collar and elbow, Kofi with a side headlock and Dash reverses. Shot off, drop down, leapfrog, leapfrog, blind tag to Dawson and he hangs Kingston over the ropes with a gourdbuster for two! Arm wringer, northern lights suplex into a bridge, only two. Suplexing Kofi up top, climbing to join him, jockeying for position and Kingston hits a missile dropkick!

Tag to Wilder, he cuts the ring in half, block the tag, snap scoop powerslam for two and we go to break.

Back from commercial, both men down and out, Dawson tags in! Cut Kingston off, neckbreaker connects, Scott heads up top but nobody’s home on the leg drop! Tags made, E comes in hot with the trifecta of belly-to-belly suplexes! Off the ropes, big splash but Wilder got his knees up! Tag to Dawson, kick to the knee, right hand, but he runs right into the corner Rock Bottom... NOPE!

Tag made, Big off the ropes and Dash hits a tornado DDT for two! Wilder gets underneath him, electric chair on the big man but he slips out! Double lariats, both men down and out... tags made! Kofi meets Scott with a kick, missile dropkick, challengers head to the floor, off the ropes... KOFI WITH THE TRUST FALL SENTON! Back inside, tag to E, scoop Dawson but Wilder runs interference before Midnight Hour can hit!

Scott hits a DDT on Big... STILL NO! Off the ropes, alley oop Kingston to the floor... THE REVIVAL CATCH HIM AND PUT HIM INTO THE POST! DOUBLE SUPLEX PUTS E INTO THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! Back inside, tag made, whip... SHATTER MACHINE! KOFI BREAKS IT UP WITH A DIVE AND ALL FOUR MEN ARE DOWN AND OUT! Undisputed ERA are here! They’re taking Kingston apart...

New Day win by disqualification, presumably, although no finish is announced.

Undisputed take both teams out and bail when the SmackDown roster makes the save!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw.

Francis Kip Stevens & Kevin Tibbs vs. Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight)

It’s a Heavy Machinery squash. The big men beat ass, Caterpillar, etc...

Heavy Machinery win by pinfall with the Compactor on Francis Kip Stevens.

Bayley and Sasha Banks are interviewed backstage.

Bayley talks about how beating people brings her joy and how happy she’ll be to crush Nikki Cross’ dreams. Banks accuses Cross of blaming her for her woes, and Bayley says maybe she’ll join Team SmackDown after she beats Nikki here.

Nikki Cross makes her entrance and we go to break before the match.

Back from commercial we get some hype for WrestleMania tickets going on-sale.

Bayley vs. Nikki Cross (Team SmackDown Qualifying Match)

Cross hot out the gates, dropkicking Bayley to the floor! The champ passes her into the steel steps and catches a breather and Shayna Baszler is here! The Queen of Spades rolls into the ring and Bayley heads for the hills... WHERE THE NXT WOMEN ARE WAITING FOR HER! Forearm connects and Rhea Ripley dumps her to the floor with a slam! Sasha Banks blindsides Baszler, referee Jason Ayers looks kinda lost...

Nikki Cross won by disqualification, maybe? No bell, no announcement, nothing matters.

The SmackDown women’s roster makes the save!

Banks gets on the mic and says if NXT wants the spotlight, she’ll give them an atomicos match right now!

We go to break before it can begin.

Carmella, Dana Brooke, Nikki Cross, & Sasha Banks vs. Dakota Kai, Mia Yim, Rhea Ripley, & Tegan Nox

Kai and Cross to start, the NXT woman with the advantage at first but Nikki turns the tide with a crossbody into punches! Yim with the tag, she runs into an arm drag, armbar, Carmella tags in. Arm wringer, roll through, reversal, reversed back and Mia breaks with a chop! Passing her into the corner, Mella sidesteps a boot, moonwalks, ducks a lariat, dodges kicks, solebutt of her own connects.

Front chancery, kick to Nox, Yim throws her off and makes the tag! Tegan comes in and puts boots to Mella, tag to Dakota. Double teams, malfunction at the junction, lost track of who was legal, no dice. Tag to Nox, clubbing away, piefacing her but Mella gets through and tags Banks in! Mat slam, taunting, off the ropes, Meteora ducked into a sunset flip for two! Sasha with a backslide, roll it through, kick connects but Ripley tags in.

Jawing, the Boss slaps the taste out of her mouth! Off the ropes, tilt-a-whirl blocked and reversed, running straight suplex! Rhea screaming in her face, posing, proclaiming the superiority of NXT, wheelbarrow reversed, Bank Statement crossface reversed, roll through shove Sasha into the corner and the match breaks down with all eight women in the ring as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Cross is shoving Ripley away. Rhea blasts Banks off the apron, Nikki gets the elbow up in the corner, diving crossbody connects! Clear the apron, sidestep Ripley, Stinger splash and a bulldog but Kai made the blind tag! Cross hits a back suplex, Nox breaks it up with the Shiniest Wizard! Mia Yim hits Sole Food, stacked up in the corner, Brooke with a handspring back elbow but she gets destroyed by Ripley with a dropkick!

The Boss in with knees, but Dakota runs her over with a kick in the corner! Nikki off the top, handspring scorpion kick from Kai! Suplex reversed...

Carmella, Dana Brooke, Nikki Cross, & Sasha Banks win by pinfall with the fisherman neckbreaker from Cross on Dakota Kai.

Post-match the NXT women hit the ring and we’ve got a brawl! Fire and Desire rush down to assist the SmackDown women and send the newcomers packing!

We see Daniel Bryan walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up the Survivor Series card for us.

The Miz makes his entrance and gives us the usual intro patter for MizTV before recapping all the Bray Wyatt / Daniel Bryan stuff of recent weeks and introducing Bryan in the process.

Dan makes his entrance and Miz asks why he thinks the Fiend attacked him. Bryan is silent at first and Miz admits they don’t like each other but he’s just trying to get to the bottom of this, and he offers his own theory-- Wyatt sees Bryan’s mental instability and that he’s washed up and wants to be the one to end Daniel Bryan. That gets the American Dragon to rise and he says he’ll talk about Bray in a second.

The reason he was quiet, he says, is that MizTV sucks and has always sucked. But Miz is right, he’s not the Daniel Bryan he was ten years ago, he’s not the leader of the Yes! Movement and maybe he’s washed up and he’s for sure mentally unstable, but one thing is the same as before-- the passion. The passion that had him overcome the odds and main event WrestleMania, to come back after three years off...

Miz tries to cut him off and Bryan yells at him to shut up, saying that the passion combined with the mental instability caused him to abandon the Yes! Movement and kick a man in the balls to win the WWE Championship, Miz can’t understand that... but Bray Wyatt does.

Cue the Firefly Fun House intro.

Bray Wyatt calls him out for talking about him while he’s not there, and says maybe the Fiend was trying to scare him, or to remind him or maybe he just wants to play! Yowie wowie, he says, opening a toy box and pulling all manner of mundane and disturbing things out of it before finally getting the Universal Championship out. He says it’s his favorite new toy and all Bryan has to do to play with it is say one magic word.

He says “no” and the Fun House pals answer back “yes” one by one, and Bryan says he’s not gonna go back and play with puppets because he’s not a puppet, and whoever attacked him clearly has a problem, so if he wants a fight, let’s fight. But if they’re gonna do it, the American Dragon wants a title match! Wyatt stalls briefly before giving him the yes!

Bray “Yes!” fingers over and over with increasing fervor as Bryan stares on from the ring. Finally he stops and Miz announces the match for Survivor Series!

That’s the show, folks.
