Shayna Baszler shows up on SmackDown, beats up Bayley

A couple weeks back, Nikki Cross won a Six-Pack Challenge to become the top contender to the SmackDown women’s championship. With travel issues affecting so much of the roster, forcing them to miss this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE went ahead and booked Cross vs. Bayley for the title on the show.

She didn’t win.

Of course she didn’t. She didn’t have Sasha Banks right there to help her like Bayley did.

Cross gave it the old college try but it wasn’t long before the referee had his back turned and Banks took advantage, knocking Cross off the top rope. Bayley is still your SmackDown women’s champion.

That story immediately took a backseat to Shayna Baszler, the current NXT women’s champion, rushing the ring and attacking Bayley right after. She beat her up, left her lying in the ring, and walked back out through the crowd.

Surprise!
