This was announced yesterday (Weds., Oct. 16) and we mentioned it in passing while discussing shirts and good-natured shots, but it’s worth further discussion.
Good luck getting Eric Bischoff’s theme song out of your head for the next few hours...

The former WCW President was just fired by Vince McMahon a couple days ago, less than four months after being hired to serve as SmackDown’s Executive Director. Some explained his hiring by saying his time working for Ted Turner gave him experience dealing with a major broadcast network, so he’d be useful as the WWE brand was moving to Fox.
But there had been talk he wasn’t doing much in the role. Now we have reports he was let go to send a message to WWE shareholders and business partners that Vince is taking Friday Night SmackDown’s 25% decline in viewership and demographic rating from the Oct. 4 premiere to Oct. 11’s second episode very seriously.
Starrcast is run by Conrad Thompson, who is Bischoff’s partner on the 83 Weeks podcast where they discuss WCW Nitro’s run atop the Monday Night ratings in the late 1990s. While technically not affiliated with All Elite Wrestling, the convention has always been attached to a Cody Rhodes-promoted wrestling event. Starrcast IV occurs alongside Nov. 9’s AEW Full Gear in Baltimore.
