Did we just become best friends? Yup.
So Zelina Vega, real name Thea Trinidad, was cast as AJ Lee in the upcoming Paige biopic Fighting with My Family. Now that the movie has premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, Vega was able to watch her portrayal of Lee up on the big screen for the first time and she’s understandably nervous.
It’s hard enough making your acting debut in a major motion picture, now try and go make your silver screen debut while playing the role of a real life person every single pro wrestling fan is familiar with.
So was the task for Vega when she filmed Fighting with My Family.
There must be an unwritten role somewhere that states if you play a real person in a movie, you two must eventually become friends in real life.
Lee and Vega had a moment on social media about the movie that was actually pretty cool.
Girl I could never even watch my actual self on TV without breaking out in hives haha, but I’m sure you were a great me! More importantly, you’re the first and only you. And I believe in you and Saraya wholeheartedly. Go kill it, ladies! https://t.co/SZYe54BI99

Vega replied
Hahaha I totally get that. Thank you so much @TheAJMendez #FightingWithMyFamily

A collective sigh of relief for everyone involved. Now we can go back to fantasy booking AJ Lee and Zelina Vega into a future WWE faction.
Fighting with My Family receives a nationwide release on Friday, Feb, 22 in the United States.
