What’s next for NXT? The black-and-yellow brand films at their home base of Full Sail Live on Weds., Jan. 30 to give us some answers.
We’ll start seeing the action taped tonight next week during NXT’s regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network. These shows will start us down the road to April 5’s TakeOver: New York.
What do Triple H and team have in store for us? Join us as we start updating results live when as they roll in from Winter Park, Florida after the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:
- Luke Menzies over Sean Maluta in what is likely your opening dark match of the evening.
- Johnny Gargano comes out to cut a promo about how great it is to be NXT North American Champion, and Tommaso Ciampa comes out to join him and crow about how they’re great together. Johnny says there’s no “them” anymore, and he did this by himself.
- Enter Velveteen Dream, who says tonight is about him and, as winner of the Worlds Collide tournament at Axxess, he gets a title shot of his choosing, so he’s going after Gargano’s belt.
- Jaxson Ryker over Mansoor.
- Post-match, Forgotten Sons cut a promo about how they’re overlooked and heading for the tag titles.
- Drew Gulak over Bugenhagen. Post-match, Drew calls out anybody in the back who wants to get stretched... AND MATT RIDDLE ANSWERS!
- Matt Riddle over Drew Gulak. Post-match, they exchange the Catch Point handshake, which I’d be shocked if it matters in NXT continuity but I’m noting it here because I’m the Evolve lady and you cannot stop me.
- Bugenhagen comes out to play to the crowd, since apparently Full Sail loved him.
- Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, & Kairi Sane over Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, & Shayna Baszler.
- Dominik Dijakovic over Shane Thorne.
- Humberto Carrillo & Stacey Ervin, Jr. come out for a tag team match but Kassius Ohno interrupts them to say he’s been sitting in the back too long and he’s sick of Full Sail and has plenty of places he can go to be appreciated, which gets Keith Lee to come out, knock him out, and tell him not to let the door hit him on his way out.
- Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) over Humberto Carrillo & Stacey Ervin, Jr.
- Post-match, the Profits call War Raiders out, and instead Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel answer, saying they deserve a shot more. This brings Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan out in turn, and then War Raiders themselves. Undisputed ERA join the fun and we get a nice big brawl that War Raiders stand tall on to close the segment out.
- Aaliyah over Taynara Conti with a little help from Vanessa Borne. Post-match, Shayna & co. beat everyone down and warn the division not to piss them off or get in their way.
- Ricochet over Adam Cole. Post-match, Undisputed attack Ricochet, and also take Aleister Black out when he tries to make the save.
- Punishment Martinez over Riddick Moss.
- Keith Lee over Kassius Ohno.
- Aleister Black over Roderick Strong. Post-match, Undisputed attack, but this time Ricochet successfully makes the save and runs them off.
- Mia Yim over Xia Li. Post-match, Baszler & co. attack again, and beat down everybody that comes from the back for the save, to boot.
- Velveteen Dream over Johnny Gargano (c) to win the NXT North American Championship!
- Post-match, Gargano attacks and leaves Dream laying. He takes the title belt and holds it high with Ciampa and his title, all while still having an eye on the NXT Championship.
There you have it, folks
