They sent out a statement confirming the reports that he turned down a recent contract offer and would be leaving the company when his deal comes up after WrestleMania 35:
“Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”
This is an interesting turn of events, especially considering WWE has been doing as much as possible to retain talent during a time when rival promotions are proving to be viable options for wrestlers who are worth the investment. Ambrose is quite clearly a top level star who will be in high demand the moment he becomes available.
