Can The New Daniel Bryan change the world?

WWE.com

The New Daniel Bryan is the best the Daniel Bryan

The New Daniel Bryan feels pretty unstoppable heading into his title defense at the 2019 Royal Rumble. Does AJ Styles have it in him to stop any of the WWE Champion’s momentum.

The story so far

Following 371 days with the WWE Championship, Styles title reign came to an end just week prior to a Survivor Series rematch with Brock Lesnar. Losing to Bryan, a year prior Styles began his run with the title in similar fashion, defeating champion Jinder Mahal in Nov. 2017.

After a receiving handful opportunities to topple Styles, a funny thing happened on the way to Bryan winning the title on Nov. 13, 2018. Bryan cheated to earn the ‘W’. Hmm.

The build to Royal Rumble

For the remainder of 2018 Bryan was a changed man and a different kind of champion. This New version of Daniel Bryan spoke from his heart and was conscious of the environment. Bryan was using his platform as WWE Champion to spread knowledge.

Styles and select members of the WWE Universe did not appreciate Bryan’s attempts to inform the public about factory farming, the dangers of consumerism, and a host of other topics of the day.

Over the past few months Bryan has crossed with R-Truth, Mustafa Ali but would eventually circle back to Styles as his challenger at the 2019 Royal Rumble.

The go-home show

Throughout the latest arc of their feud it’s felt like Bryan has doing much of the legwork. Styles had a brief flash of of maybe adding something different character when he punched out Vince McMahon, but WWE didn’t add too much follow thru on the move.

On the other hand, Bryan’s transition from one of WWE’s best faces on either roster to smug heel has been flawless. Bryan was so good as the underdog you wanted to root for that his 180 degree as man many love to hate is even more impressive in contrast.

The New Daniel Bryan feels too hot at the moment for WWE to even be thinking about taking the title off of him. Stranger things have happened, but will AJ Styles pull off the upset on Sunday night?

Tune into cSs for full bell-to-bell coverage of the Royal Rumble today (Jan. 27) starting at 5:00 p.m. ET with the Kickoff show leading right on into the main card at 7:00 p.m. ET.
