WWE didn’t waste anytime with the latest rumor regarding Ronda Rousey.
Getting out in front of a report from this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required and encouraged), WWE gave a very definitive statement to TMZ Sports about Rousey’s current contract with the company.
“Also, a WWE spokesperson tells us, “Ronda Rousey is under contract with WWE until April 10, 2021. Whether she wants to start a family is a private matter.”
In the report, it was believed that Rousey would be leaving WWE after WrestleMania 35 and the company was already preparing for her departure.
With two years left on her current deal, it still doesn’t preclude Rousey from starting a family and taking a maternity leave from pro wrestling. Dave Meltzer’s original blurb on the Raw women’s champion did mention that Rousey could continue with company in a more part-time role i.e John Cena or The Undertaker.
Do rumors and reports of Ronda Rousey’s pending departure influence WWE’s plans for the potential main event of WrestleMania 35?
