This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was pre-taped, aired on one of the biggest nights for socializing and went head-to-head with live college football bowl games. So it’s really hard to tell what viewership numbers for the last show of 2018 tell us.
Still, WWE’sNew Year’s Eve numbers were better than what the red brand did on Christmas Eve. So they’ll likely take the 1.97 million viewers they drew for this week’s episode drew (up from the 1.78 million last week’s pre-taped show did) and move on toward whatever their big plans are to continue growing the audience on the Road to WrestleMania 35.
The hourly breakdown shows about what you’d expect, with the usual third hour drop likely exacerbated by its proximity to midnight ET:
Hour one: 2.04 million
Hour two: 2.01 million
Hour three: 1.84 million
What happens next week will be more interesting, as we get back to live broadcasts for the proper start of the McMahon’s “new era”, along with the returns of Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman and John Cena. Of course, they’ll also be going head-to-head with Clemson vs. Alabama for the college football national title...
