Yesterday reports surfaced stating both Maria Kanellis and Mike Kanellis had requested their release from WWE.
Pro Wrestling Sheet was the first to report the news. The report would go on to say the Kanellis’ have been unhappy with their role in WWE for awhile and decided to request their releases a few weeks ago.
Today (Jan. 17) Maria Kanellis fanned the flames in regards to the report.
Kanellis kicked started the conversation with this tweet using the image below:

Kanellis followed up her initial message with a tweet soon after when she asked about her leaving WWE.
Everyone thinks they know everything. Hahahahaha.... it’s social media not an autobiography. https://t.co/5wlyJgzfF1

Kanellis would then send out three more messages all addressing her time with WWE.
Social Media Fact Check: Mike NEVER went to rehap ANYWHERE. He was on the road with me rehabbing. We were on house shows. He never took time off to rehab. He worked through it.

Social Media Fact Check: I worked for WWE for 6 years before I got pregnant. I worked in sports entertainment for 14 years before having a baby.

Social Media Fact Check: WWE has been SUPER supportive of me being a mother and a superstar!

So what does it all mean? Your guess is as good as ours. On one hand it appears Maria Kanellis is ready to move on to the next stage of her career. While on the other hand she emphasizes how thankful she is for WWE support her during her pregnancy.
With All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and New Japan all looking to build-up, reshape, or reload their rosters, now may be one of the best times to become a pro wrestling free agent.
Have we seen the last of Maria and Mike Kanellis in WWE?
