Kurt Angle is thankful after his kidnapped niece was found

Late Wednesday night the pro wrestling community rallied around Kurt Angle.

Today (Jan. 17), Angle is thanking everyone after his niece was found in the early morning hours in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. 16-year-old Marjani Aquil was found after a reported abduction by her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend Jermaine Laquay Rodgers.

CBS 2 Pittsburgh with more information on the abduction of Aquil.

“Penn Hills Police Chief Howard Burton said the 19-year-old Rodgers broke into Aquil’s home on Glenbrook Court in Penn Hills Wednesday night, assaulted her and forced her into a red sedan.

An Amber Alert was officially issued at 8:14 p.m. It was canceled at 1:34 a.m. Thursday.

Police said this is the second time in a year that Rodgers abducted Aquil.

Rodgers was arrested this past March for an alleged Jan. 29, 2018, incident where he held Aquil against her will in a Wilkinsburg apartment for four days. Aquil alleged that Rodgers physically prevented her from communicating with family or friends, and he also physically assaulted her during that time.”

The WWE Hall of Famer took to social media on Wednesday night after the Amber Alert was issued and encouraged his fans to spread the message about his missing niece.

Following Aquil being found, Angle returned to his Facebook page to thank everyone for their support.

Social media often brings out the worst in human beings, but it was nice to see, even if only for a few hours, the pro wrestling world helping out one of their own.
