Top contenders removed from respective Royal Rumble matches

Doesn’t look like Finn or Sasha will be pulling double duty in Phoenix.

WWE took their time pulling Sasha Banks from the Women’s Royal Rumble after she won the right to challenge Raw Women’s champion Ronda Rousey at Jan. 27’s pay-per-view (PPV) at Phoenix’s Chase Field.

They acted much more quickly after Finn Bálor earned the right to replace Braun Strowman as Brock Lesnar’s opponent for the Universal title.

Who knows why, but both have been removed from the match now.

Here are updated lists of entrants for both 30 wrestler, over-the-top-rope elimination battle royals:

Men’s Rumble: John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Elias, Jinder Mahal, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Lashley, Andrade, Rey Mysterio, Mustafa Ali, R-Truth (entering last by virtue of his Mixed Match Challenge win) and 12 others.

Women’s Rumble: Natalya, Bayley, Ember Moon, Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, Liv Morgan, Mickie James, Alicia Fox, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Zelina Vega, Carmella (entering last by virtue of his Mixed Match Challenge win) and 18 others.
