Holidays are over, there was no major live competition from sports or politics, it wasn’t a pay-per-view (PPV) episode or otherwise “special” editon of SmackDown on Tues., Jan. 15, and... WWE’s television numbers stayed right in the same range they’ve been in for the last several months when those conditions are operative.
This week’s episode of the blue brand reached an audience of 2,143,000 - up 111K viewers from Jan. 8. That’s good! It’s demographic share among the 18 - 49 year olds was down fom last week, only reaching a .70. That’s less good! Both figures are still in the neighborhood SmackDown’s been living in since at least October.
The blue brand was the eighth most watched show among cable originals on the night, behind MSNBC and Fox News’ programming and Curse of Oak Island. History’s treasure hunting reality show was the only thing which beat WWE in the ratings.
Next week is the Royal Rumble ‘go home’ show and we should expect... probably more of the same.
