Spoiler reports let us know there would be “Thank you, Nikki” chants after Nikki Cross’ match with Bianca Belair at Full Sail Live. Those were edited out of the version which aired on WWE Network this past Wednesday (Jan. 9), but they’re included in the below look at Cross’ last appearance for the black-and-yellow brand from the Performance Center’s YouTube channel.
Or is it just her first appearance after her promotion to the main roster was (finally) announced last month? While dealing with a lot of conflicting emotions - and from her description of her inner monologue, her frenzied in-ring character sounds like the proverbial “performer’s real persona turned up to 11” - Cross refuses to say goodbye to NXT:
As a big fan of Cross’ work over the last couple years (and before that on the indies as Nikki Storm), I’m pulling for her to break out on Raw or SmackDown. But the main roster is more crowded than ever, and the Twisted Sister gimmick is something I could see being misunderstood by the creators and fans at the next level. If occassional visits to NXT a la Tyler Breeze and Tye Dillinger give her a chance to work her magic, so be it.
She thinks so, too...
See you down the road @WWENXT

This isn’t goodbye...we caused far too much mischief and had too much fun doing it for this to be it... pic.twitter.com/0Fk8wEEUzX
We’ll see what happens. In the meantime, “Thank you, Nikki! [clap, clap, clapclapclap]”
