Does ‘A Moment of Bliss’ tell us anything about Alexa’s in-ring status?

Alexa Bliss seemed to be a good fit for the authority figure role she had last month under acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin. Unfortunately, as Paige also found out over on SmackDown, there’s not room for any non-McMahons in the WWE’s “new era”. So Little Miss Bliss was bounced from her job overseeing the women’s division on Monday nights.

On Raw last night (Dec. 31), we found out the next way the company will keep a performer they’ve always been high on in the spotlight. Alexa will be the first female Superstar to have a recurring talk show segment. “A Moment of Bliss” will join names like “Miz TV”, “The Cutting Edge” and “Piper’s Pit” in the history books when the Goddess invites the wrestler who beat her for the Raw Women’s title, Ronda Rousey, onto her set.

Does it tell us anything about Bliss’ status as a wrestler? Other than what turned out to be an overly optimistic report from Mark Henry, we haven’t had much in the way of updates on Alexa’s recovery from a series of concussions. She did post some photos on social media showing her working out at WWE’s Orlando Performance Center, but those came along with rumors she wasn’t cleared to take bumps. They also haven’t led to more positive news. Now, the announcement of another non-wrestler role.

But, going back to Roddy Piper, the talk show segment has been as much a way to start & continue feuds for their hosts as it is a way to use a gifted microphone worker in a non-physical way. And Bliss’ announcement definitely sounds like she’s going to remain a thorn in the side of the Raw Women’s champ.

Is hosting “A Moment of Bliss” just a new weapon in Alexa’s arsenal, or her new role for the foreseeable future?

We’ll have to wait to find out. Feel free to make your best guesses below right now, though.
