WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 match card, rumors

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Hell in a Cell event set to take place on Sun., Sept. 16, 2018, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. This is the tenth time the promotion will hold this event.

We’re just one week out from showtime. Here’s how the card looks right now:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Braun Strowman (Universal championship)

This will be a Hell in a Cell match. It’s where Strowman is cashing in his Money in the Bank contract.

  • AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe (WWE championship)

This is a rematch from SummerSlam, where Joe won by disqualification when Styles snapped after repeated verbal attacks directed toward his family. This isn’t a Hell in a Cell match yet, and may not become one.

  • Daniel Bryan & Brie Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse

Shortly after Miz said he was retiring from ever wrestling Bryan again, his wife showed up and punched Miz in his face. Naturally, this led to a mixed tag team match. This will be roughly six months after Maryse gave birth.

  • Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Alexa Bliss (Raw women’s championship)

Bliss is owed a rematch from SummerSlam, and she’ll get it here.

  • Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Becky Lynch (SmackDown women’s championship)

Just as Becky was about to win the title from Carmella, Charlotte came in and stole it for herself. It was technically fair, considering the triple threat rules, but it felt wrong. Lynch responded by snapping, and she’s vowed to take Flair out ever since. She gets her first chance here.

  • Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton (Hell in a Cell)

In something of a surprise, they chose to put this match inside the Cell. Hardy has been dealing with injuries for a while now, but that has never stopped him from doing crazy things before. Shinsuke Nakamura looms.

  • The New Day (c) vs. TBA (SmackDown tag team championship)

They’re currently running a tournament on SmackDown Live to crown the next number one contender. The Bar won a triple threat, then Rusev Day did the same. They’ll square off this week to earn entry into this match.

Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs. Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler is rumored for the show as well.
