So Shawn Michaels may come out of retirement for a glorified house show on the WWE Network in Saudi Arabia?
If you were wondering how the WWE could top their Greatest Royal Rumble event in April, they may have already found a way.
This past Monday night on Raw, Michaels made a scheduled appearance to hype the upcoming match between Triple H and The Undertaker at Super Show-Down in Australia. While cutting his promo, HBK was interrupted by Taker and the two old rivals proceeded to throw verbal jabs at each other on the mic.
It all just felt right.
The promos were so good it had everyone thinking about a possible Michaels versus Undertaker match down the road rather than whatever match The Deadman and Triple H were supposed to have in a few weeks.
From the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required and encouraged), Dave Meltzer reports that talks have heated up about Michaels coming out of retirement.
“The working idea internally right now is that Michaels is coming out of retirement. Right now it is not for a singles match, and it is targeted, if not scheduled, for Saudi Arabia on 11/2.”
This reports piggy back’s rumors that point to HBK getting involved in some form during the Triple H versus Undertaker match at Super Show-Down on Oct. 6.
It has been a long eight years plus since Shawn Michaels lost to the The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI in a career versus streak main event.
Maybe this proposed tag team match in Saudi Arabia foreshadows one more match for The Heartbreak Kid at WrestleMania 35?
After Monday night teases, the WWE has to have something bigger and better planned for Mr. WrestleMania, right?
