WWE 205 Live results (Sept. 4, 2018): Alexander confronts Gulak

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE 205 Live as it airs on WWE Network.

WWE.com’s official preview doesn’t address it, but the big question a lot of us have heading into this week’s episode from Detroit is how General Manager DRAKE MAVERICK will juggle his responsibilities to the purple brand with his new, tactical vest-wearing ones as manager of AOP over on Raw. He’s got his hands full on 205 Live, with Cruiserweight Champ Cedric Alexander showing up to respond to Drew Gulak’s call for a rematch, and Mustafa Ali’s fiery return from a pair of medical scares to confront Hideo Itami. Will DM THE GM let Gulak cut in line, or is he kind of allied with Drew seeing as Akam & Rezar were working with the Philadelphia Stretcher at the end of Raw? Has Ali been cleared, or did the Heart of 205 Live decide he couldn’t wait to get his hands on Itami, no matter what the doctors say?

Elsewhere, Buddy Murphy earned himself a title shot against Alexander at Super Show-Dwon with his thrilling win over Kalisto last Tuesday. Akira Tozawa got back in the win column, and we’re still waiting to see what‘s next for youngsters Lio Rush and Noam Dar after they won their last feuds.

We'll post match results and plot developments here. And this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the WWE’s cruiserweight showcase - while it’s being broadcast at 10PM Eastern!

Enjoy the show!

- Kayla Braxton is interviewing Tony Nese when Buddy Murphy rolls up. He puts over his Super Show-Down title shot and vows to win the belt in Melbourne.

- Gran Metalik def. Tony Nese via pinfall after the ropewalk elbow drop

- Mustafa Ali meets with DRAKE MAVERICK. DM THE GM isn’t happy Ali returned last week, and he’s still not cleared. He also tells Mustafa that what he does on Monday nights is none of Ali’s concern.

- Noam Dar def. Bryan Kelly via pinfall following the super nova kick

Lio Rush was out on commentary, and a feud between the youngsters seems on the way.

- MAVERICK meets with Cedric Alexander and tells him to keep it professional in the ring when he meets with Drew Gulak.

- Next week will see Buddy Murphy face Gran Metalik

- The Cruiserweight Champ calls out Gulak and gets TJP instead. TJ is sick of waiting in line for a chance to regain the title. DRAKE comes out and says he makes the matchs. He wouldn’t normally do this, but he’s booking TJP vs. Alexander right now.

- Cedric Alexander def. TJP via pinfall following Lumbar Check

- Afterwards, Gulak arrives, ready to fight. Gentleman Jack Gallagher jumps the champ, but Ced fights him off. That gives Drew an opening to slap on the Gu-Lock. DM THE GM arrives with a team of officials run in to break it up.
