She said ‘GUMPTION’

While we can debate forever whether or not the current SmackDown women’s champion is a babyface, there’s no question about the alignment of the current Raw women’s champion. Ronda Rousey is a babyface through-and-through.

She came out on Monday Night Raw this week and straight up congratulated Alexa Bliss, who she beat at Hell in a Cell, before putting her over for being a strong opponent who “pushed me close to my limits.” Then she thanked her, for being good and making Rousey that much better, because she wants to be the best she can be, like Bret Hart, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Ric Flair before her.

She was all smiles throughout all of this.

Then, she issued an open challenge, still grinning from ear-to-ear. This was all fine, and great, and the crowd was having a lot of fun with it. Awesome!

What came next may have been the best thing to happen on Raw this year, at the 1:10 mark of the following video:

She gets DEATHLY serious to say “so if any of the women in the locker room have the GUMPTION to come out here and try and take my title, let’s see who it is!”

I can’t stop laughing.

She said “GUMPTION,” and she looked like this while saying it:

That woman is not messing around. You better have some real GUMPTION if you want her title!

Pro wrestling rules, and Ronda Rousey rules, and I will hear no argument to the contrary.
