Season two of WWE Mixed Match Challenge kicks off tonight (Tues., Sept. 18, 2018) with a new format, old teams mixed with new teams, and an increase in how many matches we’ll get for each episode.
This time around, we’ll get two each new week.
Up first: Braun Strowman & Alexa Bliss Ember Moon (called into action due to an injury to Bliss) take on Kevin Owens & Natalya while AJ Styles & Charlotte Flair take on Jimmy Uso & Naomi.
The show starts immediately following SmackDown Live at 10 pm ET on Facebook Watch. See you then!

Michael Cole, Vic Joseph, and Renee Young welcome us. Renee had a phone out to present for Cole to tell folks how to use Facebook video. Anyone watching this probably already knows that.
Braun Strowman & Ember Moon vs. Kevin Owens & Natalya
Monster Eclipse won a fanvote to become Strowman and Moon’s team name, which isn’t nearly as good as “Total Eclipse of These Hands” like someone suggested in the comments of the original poll. After Kevin Owens made his entrance with Nattie, Strowman was heard telling Moon “this is going to be a walk in the park.” KO responded with “you don’t even know what a park is.”
“Get these paws,” Natalya told Braun.
Yeah.
Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox were shown backstage on their phones, because they’re in the comments. Their exaggeration with said phones was ridiculous but that’s what this business is all about.
The story here was Natalya almost finishing off Moon with the Sharpshooter before Strowman could ever get into the match. So Braun pulled her over to the ropes, then tagged himself in so he could go after Owens. Cole was reading comments from fans. KO sold a knee injury after the running should tackle on the outside. Strowman took him out enough that he tagged Nattie back in, who went for another Sharpshooter but couldn’t get it. Moon took control, then demanded Strowman get in the ring, and hit the Eclipse off his shoulders to get the pinfall.
Monster Eclipse def. Team Pawz
Legit Dominance vs. Mahalicia was announced for next week, and they did promos for it. Foxy was really great.
Jimmy Uso & Naomi vs. AJ Styles & Charlotte Flair
They did a lot of comedy stuff with AJ and Jimmy early on. They were holding each other’s legs and saying “let go” and then got around to letting go at the same time. This led to a handshake, where they were shaking too hard and couldn’t agree on that. Finally, they loudly shouted they were tagging out and did so. The comedy continued when Charlotte and Naomi got in, with Flair gaining the edge and taking some time to twerk. She looked embarrassed doing it but Naomi fist bumped her.
Meanwhile, R-Truth was in the comments arguing with people.
They did a spot where Naomi tried to dive on Styles but he caught her and Jimmy got real mad about AJ having his hands on his wife. As they argued, Charlotte did the same thing as Naomi and took the married couple out.
When they got back in the ring the action got serious. Charlotte locked on a Figure Four on Jimmy but Naomi used a splash from the top to go for a cover that Styles broke up. Naomi looked incredulous and AJ responded by saying “I don’t know.” Jimmy came in, Styles took him out, and Naomi used the Rear View to take him out. That gave Charlotte an opening and she used it to lock in the Figure Eight — not very well — and that got the tap.
Fenomenal Flair def. Day One Glow
Awe-ska vs. Fabulous Truth was announced for next week on the SmackDown side. They did promos, where Truth said next week he’s finally going to be able to pin Carmella. She tried to set him straight and he was convinced she’s confused.
Foxy and Truth were the MVPs of this episode, just from the promos.
See you next!
