WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 results: Ronda Rousey overcomes injured ribs to beat Alexa Bliss again

Even the pre-match video package for Alexa Bliss vs. Ronda Rousey looked one-sided, but at least it ended with the challenger’s attack on the Raw Women’s champs ribs.

And even if Little Miss Bliss couldn’t regain the title at Hell in a Cell on Sat., Sept. 16 in San Antonio, at least she brought the coolest looking entourage in the business with her...

Rowdy only brought Natalya with her, but bad ribs or no, she’s the baddest woman on the planet, right?

It looked that way at the start, where it again appeared Rousey was toying with the challenger. But a kick to the ribs gave Alexa a chance, and before she could fall victim to an early armbar, Alicia Fox and Mickie James dragged her to safety. The champ backed them off and shoved Bliss into the ring, then sidestepped a charge which sent Alexa straight into her squad.

The distraction/cheap shot combo eventually did put the Goddess in control. Punishing the injured ribs was successful in limiting Ronda’s offense, as the champ was unable to lift the diminutive Bliss for any of her signature throws.

An ill-advised superplex set-up left Rousey in the tree of woe, and a follow-up drop kick from Bliss made the kick-up which followed difficult for Ronda.

Foxy and James helped Bliss stretch Ronda’s ribs across the ringpost, but Natty helped even the score and get it back to a one-on-one affair between the two official competitors.

But even Rousey’s offense hurt her mid-section. That provided a small amount of suspense, and showed off Ronda’s selling skills. The champ “Rowdy-ed Up” and mounted a comeback before too long, though. A throw set-up the armbar, and Bliss tapped seconds after it was applied.
