Cruiserweight title match set for first 205 Live Wednesday episode

My main man Sean passed word along earlier and now DRAKE MAVERICK is here to confirm the news and break a little more:

“WWE Universe, this is AOP’s and 205 Live General Manager DRAKE MAVERICK and, yes, what you are reading on your social media channels is true. 205 Live is moving to Wednesday nights as part of three hours of action, every Wednesday on the WWE Network. It will start at 7 pm with 205 Live, continuing with 8 pm NXT and 9 pm the continuing second annual Mae Young Classic. Kicking off 205 Live on Wednesday nights, we’re going to see the WWE cruiserweight championship defended. Cedric Alexander will defend the WWE cruiserweight championship against Drew Gulak. That’s this Wednesday night at 7 pm, the most exciting hour of action on the WWE Network, it’s 205 Live. See you every Wednesday.”

It’s a standard promotional tactic to book a title match for a situation like this, to give fans a reason to watch the first show in the new time slot to get them better acclimated to the fact that there is a new time slot.

Gulak is excited about it:
