Rumors suggested it would happen, and the creative direction on television made it rather obvious. All that was left was for WWE to make it official and they did so on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins will indeed challenge Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler for the Raw tag team titles at the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) this Sun., Sept. 16, 2018, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
This came to be both because Rollins has been feuding with the duo for some time over the Intercontinental championship and because they’ve aligned with Braun Strowman opposite The Shield. It completes what looks to be a strong PPV for a September show.
Here’s the updated match card:
- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Braun Strowman in a Hell in a Cell match for the Universal championship
- Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles (c) for the WWE Championship
- Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s championship
- Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
- Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy in a Hell in a Cell match
- The Miz & Maryse vs. Daniel Bryan & Brie Bella
- Winners of Sept. 11’s The Bar/Rusev Day #1 contenders match vs. The New Day (c) for the SmackDown tag team championship
- Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins for the Raw tag team championship
