The Miz refuses Daniel Bryan’s challenge for a match at SummerSlam

Daniel Bryan laid down the challenge to The Miz on SmackDown Live this week: after the two brewed up a feud while the former wasn’t cleared to wrestle, he wants to do just that now that he is, and he wants to do it at SummerSlam on Sun., Aug. 19, 2018, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Miz’s answer:

The answer is NO.

A post shared by Mike "The Miz" Mizanin (@mikethemiz) on

“I’ve heard his challenge. I’ve seen your questions. My answer is: no, no, no. I’m in the prime of my career, I have a gorgeous wife, a beautiful daughter, a hit docuseries -- Miz & Mrs. on the USA Network -- and not only that, on SmackDown Live I’m the most must see Superstar on that program. I’m carrying Tuesday nights. You think that just because Daniel Bryan challenges me at SummerSlam, a huge event like SummerSlam, I’m going to accept that challenge? No. I deserve more. I’m an elite level of talent. Any show that I’m on, I make it A-list, whether it’s Raw, SmackDown, any pay-per-view. I make it must see, and I deserve better than a match with Daniel Bryan. So the answer is no.”

We now eagerly await an authority figure — paging Paige — to overrule this and book the match for that show anyway.
