Their match at SummerSlam was about as one-sided as it gets. There’s no reason to think WWE would take the Raw Women’s Championship off Ronda Rousey at Hell in a Cell, or any time in the foreseeable future. But, the contractual title rematch is one of the promotion’s most reliable tropes, and Alexa Bliss is getting hers at the Sept. 16 pay-per-view (PPV) in San Antonio.
The former titleholder made the announcement on the Aug. 27 Raw. Even WWE.com’s write-up for their next encounter sounds like its having a hard time mustering much enthusiasm for the rematch:
“She [Bliss] now looks to use the lessons from her title loss and attempt to hand Rousey her first defeat in WWE.”
An updated look at the Hell in a Cell card:
- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Braun Strowman for the Universal Title in a Hell in a Cell match
- AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship
- Alexa Bliss vs. Ronda Rousey (c) for the Raw Women’s Title
- The Miz and Maryse vs. Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella
- The New Day vs. TBD for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship
