The pieces are starting to fall into place for WWE’s Australian stadium show in Melbourne. Super Show-Down added a pair of matches to its card for Oct. 6 at The MCG, and both spun out from events or announcements from Raw last night (Aug. 27).
Building off the main event segement in Toronto, The Shield vs. Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler will go down Down Under. Strowman allied himself with Ziggler & McIntyre during a match where he was partnered with Universal Champ Roman Reigns against them, and the heel duo helped Braun overcome all three Hounds of Justice to close the broadcast. This six-man will take place after Strowman challenges Reigns for the belt in a Hell in a Cell match at the Sept. 16 pay-per-view (PPV) of the same name. WWE was careful to not include the title in their graphic promoting the Super Show-Down match.
Earlier on Raw, the suddenly active Bella Twins were booked for a tag match on next week’s show against Riott Squad. Nikki and Brie also had a backstage segment where they re-established their friendship with Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. The Bellas also recently defeated Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan in their return to the house show circuit. It’s not exactly clear where it fits in the overall story of Brie feuding with Maryse on SmackDown, or how a rumored Nikki vs. Ronda match for Oct. 28’s Evolution show would be built from it, but WWE is going with Rousey & The Bellas against Riott Squad for Melbourne.
Here’s the updated Super Show-Down card:
- The Undertaker vs. Triple H
- John Cena and Bobby Lashley vs. Elias and Kevin Owens
- Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz with the winner getting a future WWE title shot
- The Shield vs. Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre
- Ronda Rousey and The Bella Twins vs. The Riott Squad
