“Okay, you guys, the biggest event of the summer is done, SummerSlam. But everyone is still talking about The New Day, five time tag team champions. As your SmackDown Live General Manager it’s up to me to figure out their opponents for Hell in a Cell. So, what we’re going to do, starting Tuesday, is we’re going to have two tag team triple threat matches. Whoever wins out of the two triple threat matches will face each other and then whoever wins out of those two will face The New Day at Hell in a Cell.
”So, the first team will be Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, also The Colons, Primo & Epico, and The Bar, Sheamus & Cesaro. So make sure you tune in on Tuesday because it’s gonna be good.”
A glance at the current SmackDown Live roster would seem to indicate The Usos, SAnitY, and Rusev Day would be the other teams involved in this but we’ll find out for sure whenever they announce it. Either way, this habit SmackDown has gotten into where they find title challengers by having them win mini-tournaments is quite a welcome addition to the blue brand.
