Earlier today, Becky Lynch tweeted this. Perhaps even more noteworthy, WWE’s official account retweeted it.
"This" is the SD women's title, @MsCharlotteWWE. I left home for "this" at 17, I broke ground for "this" in Japan and Europe while you were playing volleyball and getting a tan. I have built my life around "this" - so you're damn right I'm coming for "this." And you. Be ready. pic.twitter.com/PI2OD5ajm1

The debate can rage on about what fans “should” do in response to Lynch’s character throwing away her friendship with Charlotte Flair in over anger Flair returning to SmackDown after a hiatus and quickly being given an opportunity to fight for, and winning, the Women’s Title.
But as crowd reactions, polls and the replies to that tweet show, a large portion of the audience is choosing to side with the Lasskicker. And moves like editing out the fan-blaming portion of her Aug. 21 promo from the YouTube version and promoting the “hard-working dreamer wronged by an opportunistic heiress” narrative in that message make it appear WWE’s decided not to fight it.
We’ll see how the social media battle plays out this weekend and, most importantly, how SmackDown plays it next Tuesday.
