TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 isn’t even a week old, but it’s right back to work for NXT. The black-and-yellow brand reconvenes at their home base of Full Sail Live on Thurs., Aug. 23 to continue the stories whose latest chapters happened at Barclays last weekend.
We’ll start seeing the action taped tonight in next Wednesday’s episode of the black-and-yellow brand’s regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network. Which means we know it will include the champ-filled tag showdown between Undisputed ERA’s Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne & Ricochet.
What else do Triple H and team have in store for us? Join us as start updating results live when as they roll in from Winter Park, Florida after the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:
- Dominik Dijakovic over Marcel Barthel.
- Johnny Gargano comes out for a segment with the assistance of a crutch. He cuts a promo about how he failed the fans and didn’t just lose the match, he lost himself and he doesn’t know where to go from here. He concludes by admitting that he’s become Tommaso Ciampa.
- This brings NXT general manager William Regal out to ask Johnny point blank if he’s the one that attacked Aleister Black, but Velveteen Dream interrupts before we can get to the bottom of it. He says this isn’t about Black or Gargano, tonight is about the Dream.
- As a result, Regal books Johnny Gargano vs. Velveteen Dream for “next week.”
- Dakota Kai over Aliyah.
- A clip of Lars Sullivan laying EC3 out backstage plays for the crowd.
- Raul Mendoza is scheduled for a match, but Lars came down and cut a quick promo saying that when his name comes out of your mouth, he’ll rend you limb from limb. He destroys Mendoza as an example, leading the match to be called off before it even begins.
- Keith Lee over Luke Menzies.
- Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole & Roderick Strong) over Pete Dunne & Ricochet. Originally it seemed Kyle O’Reilly would participate instead of Cole, but they pulled a bait-and-switch.
- Post-match, Undisputed beat Dunne & Ricochet down until War Raiders make the save.
- Kassius Ohno over Kona Reeves.
- Post-match, Ohno gets on the mic and talks about how he came in with so much buzz and one day he ended up an afterthought. He gets it, there’s always gonna be a new, hot guy coming in, but the next such guy, he’s going to welcome personally.
- Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake) over Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) with an assist from the Mighty by way of interference.
- Kairi Sane over Trish Adora.
- Shayna Baszler comes out to tell Kairi to enjoy her fairy tale while it lasts, because she’ll have her rematch and reclaim her title.
- Velveteen Dream over Johnny Gargano.
- Pete Dunne vs. Ricochet is announced for later tonight in a WINNER TAKES ALL TITLE FOR TITLE MATCH!
- Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan over Eh Nois (Adrian Jaoude & Cezar Bononi).
- Tommaso Ciampa comes out for a promo. He has entrance music once again, and says he didn’t attack Aleister Black because if he attacks somebody, he does so on the biggest stage possible, and that the NXT Championship has thanked him for bringing it back to the main event.
- Shayna Baszler over Violet Payne.
- Lars Sullivan over Raul Mendoza.
- Bianca Belair vs. Nikki Cross goes to a double count-out draw with both women brawling all around the arena.
- Aliyah & Lacey Evans over Dakota Kai & Deonna Purrazzo.
- Jaxson “Gunner” Ryker over Humberto Carrillo. (Carrillo, it turns out, is Ultimo Ninja working unmasked.)
- Pete Dunne (UK) vs. Ricochet (NA) goes to a double disqualification draw due to interference from Undisputed ERA and War Raiders make the save. (NXT North American Championship / WWE United Kingdom Championship)
- Lorcan and Burch arrive to make sure Undisputed can’t get away and Keith Lee joins in the fun as the babyfaces take Adam Cole out.
